Consumer Advisory Council

Its purpose is to bring the consumer voice to PHN activities, and to assist WentWest in working towards a patient centred system of primary health care that delivers better health outcomes. The WSPHN Consumer Advisory Council meets quarterly, and receives ongoing advice and feedback from local consumers and community groups via the Western Sydney Primary Health Network Community Forum.
In addition, WentWest has been working in partnership with Health Consumers NSW (HCNSW) since 2013 to ensure ongoing and effective engagement of health care consumers in the planning and implementation of health services. Together the organisations launched a Consumer and Community Engagement Model which aims to take a consumer centred, top down-bottom up approach to engagement. This model is central to PHN activity particularly in the commissioning of services across the region. Find out more about Commissioning.
